Students From Trinity Christian School

From the Deputy Minister as of Oct 25 at 3:30 PM:

“Today I notified Trinity Christian School Association (Trinity), of Cold Lake, Alberta, that its registration and accreditation as a private school operator is being cancelled, effective October 25.

As a result of this closure your schools may be contacted to register one or more of the 13 in-school students or 3,491 home education students. While the September 30 enrolment cut-off date has passed, Alberta Education is committed to funding any students relocated into your school jurisdictions as a result of Trinity being closed.

Alberta Education has concluded that Trinity has not met the required standard of accountability– this includes the oversight and supervision of the home education program, and level of financial accountability. For further information regarding the findings of Alberta Education’s review into Trinity and its relationship with Wisdom Home Schooling, please visit http://education.alberta.ca.

I have directed Ministry staff to continue to review school authorities in Alberta that may be contracting with third parties in the delivery of their home education programs to ensure the issues discovered in the Trinity review are not occurring elsewhere.

Thank you for your support in accommodating any students that contact your school authority.

Curtis Clarke, PhD – Deputy Minister of Education”
