A tremendous day was had by all that attended our Equine Day and met our friend “Splash”. Splash loved our grass and loved to meet all the children that attended. In fact, she loved being presented with a portrait drawn by a youngster.
Splash said she is going to put it on her fridge!
We had a table with horse themed crafts for the students to make. A popular one was the “Noodle Horses” which became a part of the barrel racing.
Mr. D was our expert timer of the races and our record turned out to be 10.2 seconds around the 3 barrels!
Afterwards there was a busy set of tours at our open house with new and prospective students. As we get closer to the start of another exciting school year, registrations are coming in. Get your paperwork in if you haven’t already. See you next Thursday for our Garden Harvest Party.
On a beautiful Thursday at noon, we began our first event of the summer season. Our annual Chili Cookoff pitted our staff to contest who could make the tastiest chili. It should be no shock that our esteemed Chef Ash took home the prize this year. Our co-founder Jill noted that there is a pattern emerging of Chop Shop staff winning the top nod and over time, this can not be disputed. We can honestly say that this years contestants raised the bar for not only tasty but creative chili recipes. Miss Lisa’s concoction had alpaca meat while Miss Katie had moose meat. It was a fun and eventful Thursday and we look forward to Watermelon Fest today!
As we do every summer, Phoenix is a hub of activities over the summer. Starting today with our annual Chili cook off at noon. Come and taste and judge. The winner gets a $50 Chili’s gift card.
Next week, Thursday July 27th at noon, we host our Watermelon Fest. Enjoy some creative ways of preparing Watermelon. YUM YUM.
