2017 Youth Photography Contest

As part of the Mayor’s Environment Expo, the photography contest encourages students to consider the environmental community that surrounds them and to take action to protect it.

If you are a student in grades 7 to 12, grab your camera and capture your community, classroom or neighbourhood. Then enter your best shot into one of the following categories:

  • Wabi-Sabi
  • Manufactured Nature
  • Nature Aging
  • Nature Taking Over

Enter today! The contest closes at 4:00 p.m. on April 21, 2017.

Winners will be recognized at a reception on May 25, 2017. Winning photos will be featured on The City of Calgary’s Instagram account and will be displayed during the Mayor’s Environment Expo from June 6 – 8.

Winners of the 2016 Youth Photography Contest:

  • First Place: Brandon Gill, Western Canada High School, “Green House Gases” category
  • Second Place: Philip Milner, Ernest Manning High School, “Air Quality” category
  • Third Place: Kayla Rogers, St. Brigid School, “Climate Change” category
