Tues Sep 16 Colors of Ancient  Earth

Brown soil, green plants, red skies and blue seas. Learn what the ancient world may have 

looked like. Learn about primary and secondary colors. The switch gears and practice adding
and subtracting numbers to 10.

Tues Sep 16 Rock It! 
Take a deeper look at the rocks that make up the Earth. Learn about the different types. Make
some cool crafts to display your learning. Finish up with some “rock “music with your friends!

Thurs Sep 18 Understanding Time

 Let’s take a look at the concept of time and how it affects our own lives. Then perhaps we
will practice telling a bit of time. Please bring a baby picture to this class.

Thurs Sep 18 Earth Layers 
We will be talking about the food pyramid and it’s various layers. We will create a snack
with layers and talk about the layers of the Earth. Then we will move into the gym for some
vigorous exercise exploring the layers of warm up, activity and cool down.

Tues Sep 16 Rock It!
Take a deeper look at the rocks that make up the Earth. Learn about the different types.
Make some cool stuff that displays your learning. Then to finish up, create some rock music
with your friends!

Tues Sep 16 Rockin’ and Erodin’ (Part A)
Two powerful forces have dramatically changed the face of the Earth over time – they are
volcanoes (building up) and erosion (tearing down).Learn about these powerful forces and
then create various models to demonstrate their awesome destruction! Includes basic
review of addition and subtraction.

Thurs Sep 18 Alberta – Sense of the Land 
Look at Alberta past and present – what it looks like today with its different regions,
waterways and cities and what it may have looked like millions of years ago. These classes
involve a variety of LA activities – reading, comprehension, printing or writing practice,
grammar, composition and more! Combined with some art activities, they are sure to
please.

Made from decaying prehistoric creatures, some say it is the life blood of our province.
Learn all about OIL, where it comes from, how it is extracted and refined and what we use it
for. Then learn about alternative forms of energy.

Thurs Sep 18 How Do We Know 
What is the scientific method? How do we know what we do? Let’s take a further look at
science, why it is important and how evidence and investigation form its basis. Try your hand
at a few cool experiments of your own! Use your math skills.
